N8's Video Game Shelf

So, why do I do this? I think it's like many collectors, Nostalgia. The sound of that Punch Out bell or the infamous Konami code. Personally, I remember waking up Saturday mornings, playing WWF Royal Rumble while eating Pizza Pops for breakfast! After finding my first Nintendo game at the thrift store 8 years ago, I was hooked on reclaiming my childhood as well as now being able to get all those consoles and games I couldn't as a kid. Enjoy this quick overview of "the shelf".

I've collected over 300 Nintendo NES games, 200 Super Nintendo games, I haven't counted the rest, but I got stuff from Sega Master, Dreamcast, PS2, X-Box... anything I think I would enjoy playing. It's sad that most of them I have to put in storage.

Proud to say 99.9% games locally found. My main passion is for Nintendo Games.
One of my favourite games on the NES Ninja Gaiden by Tecmo - Awesome graphics, challenging as hell, and epic storyline... I love the midi music too. This game was ahead of it's time... does that mean it's in it's time today?
The Only MEGA MAN box in the city, I think... Well, it's the only one I could find anyways.

Some of my favourite games. Mike Tyson's Punch out, Kid Icarus, Darkwing Duck, Zelda and Link... good times!

Ever since this local Pawn Shop near my place closed down, I began looking for boxed Nintendo Games. They ended up selling me 20 common boxed games for $40 before they closed down. I guess it was timing and luck.

This is some of the more recent stuff - Game Cube, X-Box, PS2 and Wii. More on this next time.

If I had one favourite game of all time, it would have to be Final fantasy 2 (Final Fantasy IV in japan) by Square Enix. My first epic RPG, great story and cast! I got every reincarnation of the game, from the SNES to the re-release on the Game Boy Advance and this PSP Edition. Updated 16 bit graphics, added cut scenes and expanded storyline... 150 hours of game play heaven!

This is my video game area. Kinda messy, but serves the purpose. More to come on this too...

To my other retro video game enthusiasts out there, if you're reading this from Winnipeg hit up our email, I know you're there. You beat me to Earthbound and Mega Man X3... It's all good, but I'ld love to check out your collection too.
Again, this is what we do, collect things we love from Winnipeg's second hand spots.
Happy Thrifting..

Nintendo Wii Motion Plus for $3.99 found at Value Village. I don't know if it was a screw up from an employee as the Motion Plus attachment was in the rubber sleeve. It may have been overlooked when they put it out on the floor. Nintendo did release Motion Plus controllers, only time will tell if the attachments are sought out for in the future.
