Sexy Time at the Joy House Auction, Winnipeg

Posted by nesn8 and d.cypher
A "what" kind of family?  Sold for $10
Thirsty's Auction House - Jan 24 2012, 1900hrs.
There were many personal heroes here tonight. Artist Leo Mol, Nintendo, Wolverine... even Vince Carter and Kobe Bryant... Yes, I know Nintendo is not a person, and "Yes" those people were NOT actually there, but a fair representation of them and many other items were on hand at tonight's auction. With such a diversity of items and a full house (as full as thirsty's can actually get), we needed all the help we could get, so we recruited out friend Poppa P to help us out. How did we do? Well, we did snag some unusual stuff, judging by that 7up ad, who knows what we got? Let's examine the night...

Poppa P and LP, game face.
Noteable Items (We didn't win)
Leo Mol Stain Glass Sketch - Sold for $1500 last auction
1986 Pinocciho Movie Poster - $7.50
1980's Star Trek Poster - $20 (what?)
(Rental quality)  Nintendo games (14) - +$20
Gas Mask (old) - $25
Machete - $30 (despite Phil's best efforts)

"A Winner is You!" (Auction Wins)
-Boat Clock by United - $15
-Kobe and Vince Bobble Head - $10
-1954 Joy House Movie Poster - $7.50 (valued $30)
-1980's X-Men Comics - $20
-Assorted Silver Coins - $40

Check out the gallery, there were some high dollar items, but what we love about Thirty's is that there is a broad array of items, appealing to high rollers and "5 dollar ballers". I know the owner said he wanted to get more high end stuff.... but don't mess with a good thing. People have fun and spend money. I know we'll be back. We even booked 3 more people to come with us. Just what this auction needs... 3 more Filipinos looking for discounts. =)
-Happy Thrifting.

Nintendo Wii Motion Plus for $3.99 found at Value Village. I don't know if it was a screw up from an employee as the Motion Plus attachment was in the rubber sleeve. It may have been overlooked when they put it out on the floor. Nintendo did release Motion Plus controllers, only time will tell if the attachments are sought out for in the future.
