I Found my Hangover Burger (if I had them) at Unburger

Unburger`s Drunken Aussie - Omega 3 egg, pinapple, beets, double smoked bacon, Bothwell cheese, lettuce and herb mayo on a whole wheat bun.

Part of what we do at 204 HIPHOPROBONINJAZOMBIETURTLES is represent our city, Winnipeg. I know we aren`t a food blog per say, but Thrift Dwellers need fuel too. So, let me present to you, Unburger, Winnipeg`s healthy gourmet burger joint. I would say I know what a good burger tastes like, having eaten them before =P, but they say in the restaurant (literally written on the wall) they love burgers so much, they wanted to make ones that you could eat everyday... could Unburger deliver on this promise? (I hope so)

First impression - was this place was packed, but the worker said that was usual for a Friday. There are words all over the wall, which helps you immediately get what the restaurant was about. Their food is suppose to be healthy and fresh, so you can eat it everyday I guess? Their food is never frozen, natural, local ingredients, no perversities and they`re a "green restaurant" helping prevent waste as well as lowering their carbon footprint.

Where's Neo?

A well rounded menu, there's something for everyone. They`ve got a varied selection of beef, bison, chicken and vegetarian burgers. Prices seem fair, but expect to pay between 7 - 10 dollars per burger, drinks and sides extra. Some people may object to a complicated, $10 burger, but "this ain`t McD son". They also offered beer on tap as well as coke in bottles, which doesn't add anything but cool factor.

A full resturant, always a good sign.
Drunken Aussie - $10
Chicken Mango Curry Burger, Sweet Potato Fries. $13
The food - I ordered the Drunken Aussie, a sunny side up (omega 3) egg on my burger with beets, pineapple, bacon and herb mayo. Felt like this was something Lister would have made on Red Dwarf (check out Red Dwarf). I know it was an odd combo, but one bite and it made sense, it works. All kinds of wrong... felt so right. SPF (Sweet Potato Fries) were very clean and simply tasty. By the end, I felt satisfied, not sluggish or bloated. My picky... and beautiful wife ordered a Chicken Mango Curry burger, tasted exactly like it sounded, delish. This is one of those places that we both can eat at, without compromising the other.

Reflections - The food was fresh tasting and light, fair portions. Cool concept and clean restaurant. The only problem I had was that the space was a little cramp. Price was fair, but I think people are so used to paying $2.99 for burgers, this may be a shock to them. I am not "hating" on those who hate on Unburger for being a hipster overpriced restaurant, but when it gets down to the burger, I loved it. Hate on...

Nintendo Wii Motion Plus for $3.99 found at Value Village. I don't know if it was a screw up from an employee as the Motion Plus attachment was in the rubber sleeve. It may have been overlooked when they put it out on the floor. Nintendo did release Motion Plus controllers, only time will tell if the attachments are sought out for in the future.
