Street Fighter x Tekken = Heaven

It's a great game with great box art!
We were out in full effect for the midnight release for Street Fighter x Tekken (SFXT). A frustrating line system at the mall eventually led to a few happy nerds. Behold SFXT, the opening....

Background
One of the most anticipated fighting games of 2012, SFXT pit's Tekken and Street Fighter characters (along with some other friends) in mortal kombat (lol)...It is produced by Capcom and uses the Street Fighter 4 fighting engine. Far from the Hyper Combo System of Marvel vs. Capcom 3, SFXT uses well timed attacks and combos for a wonderful marrage of fighting game action. Rumor has it Namco would release the follow up to SFXT using a Tekken Fighting Engine depending on how SFXT was recieved.

The Hunt
We arrived at the Garden City EB Games at 2330hrs to find 2 confussing sets of lines. We thought we were being early but turns out there were more fellow geeks like us even earlier. One line was to pay for the game and the other was for people to pick it up. Still, I love midnight releases, it gives us a reason to stay up late and eventually have a new game to play

The line up

N8 said something funny to LP, Rap... hmmm.
Thumbs up. A winner is you!
The store.
The Kill
We  picked up the Special Edition SFXT. I originally didn't know what I was going to get, but we were happy we got it in the end. It came with some extra GEMS (whatever that is), A neat box and an Arcade Bank. $69.99 + taxes well spent.

First Impressions
Guess who we teamed up first... KEN and RYU of course. We were going to kick some @$$, but realisticly, we were playing with 2 left thumbs. Playing the game took some getting use to. We approached it like SF4, and it did have hints of it, but it was diffrent. But after a few minutes, we were banging out some sweet combos. Very crude, but practice makes perfect. All the characters felt balanced and the game had very technical feel, a few steps below MVC3's Hyper Combo System. It's very smooth flowing after you get the hang of it.

It's like the Thrift Dwellers come to life...

Box Art... It's beautiful, if there is a poster that would be dope!
Features
The PS3 version was reported to have more characters than the XBox 360 version, for whatever reason. So thank goodness we have a PS3! The award for best new character goes to....

Mega Man, and to us, he's never looked better. He's modeled after the Mega Man 1 game from the NES, which we are very fond of. Instead of an arm cannon, he had a gun and I guess he was fat? Retro Gamers Rejoyce!

Overall
Great start with the game. We feel like we can really get into it. The fighting system works well, the cast of characters is awesome (LP is very happy with the Tekken cast) and overall, very fun. Now we got to go to sleep... dang... we work in 4 hours....

Happy Thrifting.

Vintage Adidas Bag - Still Stylin'

Artsy Check it out. My wife found these hot vintage Adidas bags. I love old things that still have function in today's world. If this bag could talk, what would it say? What would it's history be? How many smelly gym clothes has it held? *ya, we cleaned them before use. Adidas began making bags before anything else since 1948...
