I've done some investigating on "The Galaxy's Own" Mentallo. With his mix of high flying and technical wrestling, he's dazzled (ya, dazzled, I thought it fit with the whole galaxy theme.) fans from Japan to North America. He has supposedly had over 15 years experience, although, since we don't know who he really is, we can't assume anything. I've done some investigating on who this man REALLY is. Much like J. Jonah Jameson and Spider Man, I have narrowed down Mentallo to 3 suspects.
Who is Mentallo?
1. Starman
My investigating has led me to believe this is the most likely identity of Mentallo. Star Man first appeared in Nintendo's "Pro Wrestling" in 1989. He shares the same high flying and hidden past of Mentallo. Star Man originally is from Mexico. I've seen some dark Mexicans and let me tell you, since Mentallo wears a mask, maybe it's him? He did sign an autograph for me "Muchas Gracias". It's all in the details people, Star Man is known as the "Super Star Traveller", Mentallo is the "Galaxy's Own". To the Thrift Dwellers, the evidence is clear. Mentallo is Star Man
Conclusion
What have we learned here? If you learned anything, then I am sorry, because this was not meant to teach anything, just kill some time. Sometimes, it's not the answer that is important, but it is the journey. Mentallo, for what ever reason, hides his identity. Do you go up to Marvel's Wolveriene and attempt to pull off his mask? NO! You just sit back and enjoy the best at what he does.
Happy Thrifting.
Who is Mentallo?
3. Kofi Kingston
It was actually my brother in law who first noted the "? Riddler" outfit Kofi wore one night, it got my mind thinking, could this be Mentallo? You see, once you sign a contract with WWE, you are forbid to be featured on any rival wrestling company. So my theory here is that Kofi "masked" himself to become Mentallo. Both share the long hair, some complexion similarities and high flying abilities. Although, this seems the least likely, but still possible.
2. Arachnaman
If this is in deed Mentallo, then his real name is Brad Armstrong. You may notice this yellow coloured high flyer (well, as best as he could) from the 1990's WCW shows. After Marvel comics filed a lawsuit for infringement on their "Spider-Man" character, Arachnaman disappeared. Since the origins of Menallo are dim at best, who knows? I mean, since Mentallo is the galaxy's own, maybe he has some sort of super power that leaves him ageless... how else do you explain his wrestling abilities? Arachnaman's disappearance does somewhat coincide with Mentallo's first appearance. Quite probable.
