I FINALLY found a Sega Saturn... Here? |
Currently, I am taking in the beauty of downtown Toronto. It is a contrast to Winnipeg. I am surrounded by massive towers of condos, a cornucopia of culture and the fast paced life that is Toronto. I am just scratching the surface, but most notably thus far, the Thrifting here costs a lot more than Winnipeg.
Be Happy with what you Got...
I am happy to be a thriftier in Winnipeg. I expected to see a higher price tag on times in Toronto on some of the same items in Winnipeg, but this makes me want to open my own shop. I visited Kensington Market in Toronto today. Road side shops out of classic houses and buildings, fresh produce market and good eats. My auntie told me the prices used to be good and cheap back in the day, but more trendy (and expensive) now a days. I also didn't expect to find a Sega Saturn - it has eluded me in Winnipeg for years...Check it out.
Funky Junky - Kensington Market, Toronto |
I did not expect to find a Sega Saturn (My "Crystal Skull") here. $60 Complete (untested) - Funky Junky Winnipeg Price - $40 - $50 (tested) |
Some other curios |
Un-identified Jordans Shoes $200 - Funky Junky |
Retro Movie Posters $50 - $80 Funky Junky Winnipeg Auction House - $5 - $20 |
Retro Jackets $50 - $100 Kensington Market Winnipeg Thrift Store - $5 - $15 |
Dam she's hot... The market also has the best prices on Produce in the Downtown area. |
Overall
Fun times and a great experience. Toronto is a great escape to an almost a new world. In the end, I am a true Winnipeger, I still like a great deal... and am willing to drive to Toronto to find it.
Happy Thrifting.
