Best Video Game Pick Ups (thus far!)

A bag of happiness, we present some of our most popular finds.

A decade of Thrift Dwelling has brought us countless stuff, but there are a few that stand out more than others. We've been exploring Winnipeg's Thrift Stores and other second hand spots for a few years, and have picked up some sweet stuff. At the risk for tipping off the Thrift Stores to raise their prices, we present our BEST video game pick ups from the Thrift Store! Factory Sealed Games, $.99 Masterpiece and happiness in a bag. Check it out!

Michael Jackson Moonwalker Complete - $0.99
rarityguide.com valued - $75
Value Village Polo Park - 2010
Michael Jackson Moonwalker was a game based on the movie of the same name,  released by Sega and US Gold in 1989 and 1990. Good old Michael Jackson rescues children from the gangster Mr.Big (I know, funny name right?) . Michael must use his quick reflexes and sweet moves to outwit his enemies and save the day. The midi versions of his songs rules, and hilarious subject matter was great, but the actual game itself turned out to be very challenging.

Sealed Super Mario Land 2 - $4.99
rarityguide.com valued - $250
Value Village Unicity - Jan 2012
This is what it looks like. A factory sealed Super Mario Land 2 for the Game Boy. This is not to be confused with the greatest hits version. This was the original release game in the factory seal. I couldn't believe when I found it. It's the same old mario game, but you have to fight enemies to save the mushroom kingdom from Wario, instead of Bowser. Fun Fact, this was Wario's First Appearance.

$3.99 each A complete working PS2 and an original Game Boy with games.
This was a great day for us. Lester and I found these hanging in clear bags in the electronics area of the Thrift Store for only $3.99. A complete PS2 retails for $45 dollars and a Game Boy can sell up to $25 bucks alone. Most notable game was the Super C (contra) game. Just goes to show, keep your eyes open, good deals are seldom in plain view.

Final Fantasy 7 for only .99 CENTS
No word of a lie, we found this mixed in with cheap computer games that no one ever looks at. Final Fantasy 7 retails near $70 bucks. It was the game changer of it's day, being the first Final Fantasy game released NOT on Nintendo, and was key for Playstation's success. Classic game, $.99 never again will find.

The King of Pop shot for the stars and moonwalked all over the world. I don't know what relevance this has to the blog, but thank you for reading. Check us out on YOU TUBE, sorry, we've been setting that up and haven't had to much time for the BLOG, but we're trying. We need to hire some people I think. Do YOU WANT TO BE A THIRFT DWELLER? Drop us a line.

happy thrifting!

My Top 3 Loved Worn Nike Dunks

In honour of this past Lover's day, I have 3 of my most loved, worn (not new) Nike Dunks from my collection. Brand new, these kicks can be worth b/w $250 - $350, mainly because they are sold out, and only available through Nike Select SB dealers in the first place. If you see these at the thrift store, pick them up, I've read of kids finding Dunk SBs and even early JORDANS and selling them to Japan for hundreds... Not bad for $10 investments.... So gather round as we discuss more shoes... and hopefully you can become a little smarter "thrifter." (also check out my previous Dunk Post - Avengers )
