Top 3 Summer Video Game Pick Ups

My precious....

As a prelude to our upcoming special 500 subscribers video, we reflect, specifically, on this summer's video game finds and rank the TOP 3 games.  It was a summer of great finds and personal goals. Check out our picks! We must preface that these are not necessary RARE or valuable, but for personal reasons, are on our top 3.

Top 3 Summer Video Game Pick Ups

3. Dragon Fighter (Nintendo Entertainment System)

Truly a hidden gem for us. Fun game!
June 13 2012 / $10 / River City Pawn
Many people may not know this game, but it was released at the tail end of the NES. It's a basic platformer that turned out to be very fun. A surprising gem, Dragon Fighter is considered uncommon in our books, with a value of up to $30 loose, so purchase price was a great deal. We recommend you try it out if you're obsessive platformer action 8-bit type, like N8.

2. Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Master Quest (Gamecube)

Rediscover your favourite game, again!
Aug 9 2012 / $20 / Thristy's Flea Market
Patience is a virtue indeed. The Zelda Ocarina of Time Master Quest was a tough one for me to wait for. It was readily available at the local video game store for $70, teasing me infornt of my face daily. I've lusted after it for a solid year. Then, one day at the Flea Market, there it was there with a $20 price tag none the less. Needless to say, that was the "cat's meow".
Previously unreleased in North America, the Ocarina of Time Master Quest came in a Game Cube bundle, featuring an entirely re-mixed version of the original game, not unlike the original Legend of Zelda for the NES. It was to feature new puzzles and configurations of the original game's already vast landscape. Many consider the Ocarina of Time one of the Best Games ever. We concur.

1. X-Men vs. Street Figher (Playstation)

The one ring to rule them all...
Aug 17 2012 / $0 / PNP Games (Portage)
If there was a theme hunt this summer for one game, it would have been this Street Fighter vs. X-Men. Finally, after the courage to trade in many of my other loose games, I was able to acquire this game and a few others for no cash.
A personal Childhood favourite of Lester and Mine, X-Men vs. Street Fighter was a teenage staple, featuring characters from 2 of my favourite places, mashed up into one glorious game. Featuring a cross assist combo system, SFvsX had seemingly endless possibilities and flawless game play (to us). Many a Whopper was eaten as we played each other over and over in this game. Truly #1 for us! Happy to have it.

Pickups 08.22.2020

Nintendo Wii Motion Plus for $3.99 found at Value Village. I don't know if it was a screw up from an employee as the Motion Plus attachment was in the rubber sleeve. It may have been overlooked when they put it out on the floor. Nintendo did release Motion Plus controllers, only time will tell if the attachments are sought out for in the future.
