Missy Elliott.. Where are you?

Spring is in session and summer is soon approaching. Need some tunes? Well Missy Elliott was great for the car in the Summer. But what happened to her? She was last seen on the J.Cole album released last year (which was a great album by the way). We will look at her full discography!

Supa Dupa Fly (1997)

Her first album, a great debut with songs like  Sock It 2 Me and The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly). You may remember the video to The Rain, big balloony clothes. LOL! Sock It 2 Me went somewhere else! During this era hip-hop videos went from the ghetto to outerspace. Beep beep, who got the keys to the Jeep?

Da Real World (1999)

At this time, Timbaland was going nuts with his production. With Da Real World, the lyrics and beats were on point! You can listen to this from beginning to end without skips and is a personal favorite of mine. Oh, Eminem was featured on a song too. Check out Busa Rhyme (Feat. Eminem), All N My Grill (Feat. Big Boi & Nicole) and Hot Boyz. You may remember the Hot Boyz remix as well, the Single is a CD I'm looking for.

Miss E... So Addictive (2001)

Get Ur Freak On is the jam! By the time the album came out, it had VERY heavy promotion. Everyone knew who Missy Elliott was. Another banger from beginning to end. If you didn't like Missy Elliott before, this album MADE you like her. It's that good! Check out the songs, One Minute Man (Feat. Ludacris), the Remix of One Minue Man (Feat. Jay-Z), Lick Shots, Get Ur Freak On and 4 My People (Feat. Eve).

Under Contruction (2002)

I don't know what happened, but it seemed like when this came out I wasn't feeling this album at all. The songs Gossip Folks (Feat. Ludacris) and Work It were popular. Otherwise, the rest of the album feels like filler. Maybe extras from the Miss E album sessions? It did come out a year right after the 3rd album. We will never know if this was released quickly due to her rising poularitiy at the time.

This Is Not A Test (2003)

A year after Under Construction. This time, she did great on this one! Released in 2003 and the 3rd straight album. This one has no fillers. I personally like it. Check out Pass That Dutch, Wake Up and Let It Bump. The CD artwork is great!

The Cookbook (2005)

It's too bad this was her last full album. Considering this came out 7 years ago, it's an okay album. It features flavor of the month rapper Mike Jones (Remember him? He kept on saying his name and phone number in his rhymes). Check out Lose Control (Feat. Ciara & Fat Man Scoop) and We Run This.

So where is she now?
I'm sure she's just taking a long deserved break, not a lot of people know this. But she has been producing and writing songs for other artists since the 90's. Missy, take your time. Because when you do come back, you will kill whichever beats Timbaland gives you! As much as I like Nicki Minaj, music needs you!

Happy Thrifting

Nintendo Wii Motion Plus for $3.99 found at Value Village. I don't know if it was a screw up from an employee as the Motion Plus attachment was in the rubber sleeve. It may have been overlooked when they put it out on the floor. Nintendo did release Motion Plus controllers, only time will tell if the attachments are sought out for in the future.
