Manitotba Comic Exchange 2012

Winnipeg's comic book fans gathered Sunday for Manitoba Comic Exchange (MCE), a fun day of local dealers and closet collectors coming out to pimp out their wares, amongst the mass of stuff that is Thirsty's Flea Market.
Comics, Video Games, Collectables... yes we were there!

Manitoba Comic Exchange 2012

Granted,  this is not C4 (Central Canada Comicbook Convention), there was no $75 autographs of Willam Shatner, but MCE is what it is, comics for comic book fans! Sometimes, I'ld much rather be here then the afore mentioned... amongst the real people! Why do people come here? Free Admission, lots of items to choose from and the ability to barter for deals, trust me, never pay sticker price.

There were some people in costumes (fundraiser for a children's charity) amongst the tables of comic book long boxes and collectables. Who needs Spock when you got Bane and Mario? (well, I do, but MCE was still a good time.)

Bane asked for a big mac... and got one.

Nothing spectacular, but a solid selection of bronze and silver age comics.

Cover by legendary artist Jim Lee.

RE: The Walking Dead; You can enjoy both the comics and the TV show seperatly, as the stories are not exactly the same. I've heard the comic is more bizzare than the television series. The paperback editions are you best bet, as the stand alone comic no.1 has been valued anywhere between $200 - $500 locally.

Amongst the comic book hoards were also other tables of collectables as well as a flea market worth of goods, check it out...

Stevie Ray - Harlem Heat "raise the roof!"

Complete in box Nintendo 64- $60

Complete Nintendo System - $45 (if you don't got one, this seems pretty fair, I haven't seen one in the thrift store in a long time.)
As always, nice supply of videogames.

One thing I wish I new a lot more about, Transformers. I'm sure we're all kicking ourselves for giving these away... right?

We've been trying to figure out what this was for months! Whatever it was, it sold... must have been a lot because he wouldn't tell me what it sold for.

Let me present to you the thrift dwellers, Blob and grandpa hulk? Who is that guy?

For all the TCG heads (Trading Card Game) - The good thing about flea markets is that you can barter with the owners, even on new packs of Magic Cards... just don't try to get a discount on one pack! LP, get out of there!
Thirsty's also has a good selection of toys... for the kid in all of us!

I think this is Shadowstorm... If he's the bad guy, why does he wear white?

This is for Brian... We interviewed a designer for this game.. check it out.

That's all folks - happy thrifting

Nintendo Wii Motion Plus for $3.99 found at Value Village. I don't know if it was a screw up from an employee as the Motion Plus attachment was in the rubber sleeve. It may have been overlooked when they put it out on the floor. Nintendo did release Motion Plus controllers, only time will tell if the attachments are sought out for in the future.
